Spare Button

I’m the odd one out,
You chose to keep.
Just left aside,
For when you needed.

A fix me up,
For unkept plans.
When things don’t stay,
Just the same.

I’m a stand in,
When your threads unstitch.
Or when your bindings,
Start to fray.

They say I shouldn’t,
That you’re using me.
That I’m just a spare button.

But I’m your spare button…

You see?
